Music and How Diverse Instruments Can Be

Music is something that many people come together to celebrate. Instead of simply being something that we hear and smile at, music is something that is able to affect most people at the deepest levels. Many times it conveys emotions so genuinely that it can be impossible not to be moved by what it is saying.

Different instruments and styles of music also allow for the same emotion to be conveyed in various ways, and music is something that has become nearly as varied as personalities; no one song is alike. However, if a band releases an album, it is often extremely easy to tell where there are similarities in the sounds from track to track.

Some instruments were developed for particular settings. A piano is obviously not made for light travel. Indeed, it would be very difficult to travel with a piano at all, and would be ill-advised. A harmonica, on the other hand, is highly portable and ideal for musicians who need to travel quickly and lightly.

The banjo was an instrument created by Africans in America who desired an instrument similar to instruments in Africa. However, the current-day banjo has evolved quite a bit from the original design, which had a gourd-like head. Current designs of the banjo feature four and five string versions, with a drum-like head.

Joshua Dale Olson has been playing the banjo for many years and has enjoyed learning the history and an incredible number of musical styles complimented by an excellent banjo player.
